Tuesday – All triangles: Equilateral, Isosceles, Scalene Triangles along with Acute, Right and Obtuse Triangles.
Wednesday – Review
Thursday – Test of all Triangles and begin Geometry definitions.
Friday – Odyssey Lessons
Everyday the students will work on Xtramath and Think Through Math as time permits.

Each Class needed additional teaching on measuring angles with a protractor. We are going to continue to practice measuring angles with a protractor and Test on Wednesday.
Monday – Independent work with Measuring angles, listing if the angle is Acute, Right or Obtuse and Triangles

This week we will begin our Geometry Unit! We will begin with Angles.
Monday – Defining angles (acute, right, obtuse)
Tuesday – Using a protractor we will measure angles to decide if the angle is Acute, Right or Obtuse. Introduce Acute Triangle, Right Triangle, and Obtuse Triangle.
Wednesday – Independent work with Measuring angles and listing if the angle is Acute, Right or Obtuse.
Thursday - Review for Test
Friday – Test on Angles

This week each student will begin subtraction on Xtramath.com.
Some students will have homework on the weekend to make test corrections. Those who failed will have a re-test on Monday. The students who are not re-testing will work on the new Odyssey program. I have sent home information today about this new and exciting learning program. I encourage the students to work on this at home. Last week information was sent home about 3 other programs we are using in our classroom, Think Through Math, Xtramath, and Sumdog. These are all great learning programs that can be used at school and at home to reinforce learning in a fun way.
Tuesday: word problems for addition, subtraction, multiplication and division matching them with number sentences and answers. They will record the number sentence and answers. Introduction to graphs.
Wednesday: Trick or Treat Graphing (Tally marks and Bar graphs).
Thursday: Trick or Treat Pictographs. Students will have home work tonight using all three graphs.
Friday: Review homework and work on Odyssey, TTM, Xtramath and Sumdog.

This is our last week on addition with the Xtramath. Next week each student will be on subtraction.
All classes will continue adding and subtracting fractions, finding the common detonator, and we will have a test on Friday.
We will also start introducing The Learning Odyssey program. I am very excited about this program and I believe your child will enjoy it. More information this week!

This will we will continue fractions.
We will continue with reducing / simplifying fractions, adding and subtracting fractions the entire week.

We will begin our unit on Fractions this week.
Monday and Tuesday we will be working with manipulative’s to help understand the basic concepts of fractions. We will also learn some vocabulary terms that will be used in our fraction unit.
Wednesday and Thursday they will work on Pizza Fractions! Possibly other “food” fractions.
Friday we will find fractions on measurement items.
